Great addition to kids' room or playroom.
VERY easy to assemble, good storage, glides across the floor smoothly when moving it. This made a nice addition to my son's room for quiet time playing. Came with Legos and RR tracks to get us started!

Very pleased...
We purchased this for my son's third birthday, and he LOVES it! It has lots of "lasting" playtime potential...he'll play with it all day if I let him. It's well built, attractive, and the right size for a smaller play space. The train tracks are easy to put together, even for a preschooler. He hasn't used the Lego side much yet, but I figure that will come later. Overall, a great product.

Good but doesn't work with Duplo
I read a lot of reviews for lego tables. I finally picked this one after reading several reviewers state that you could use this with duplo legos. My daughter 23 months old and I don't feel comfortable giving her regular legos yet. We have a 70+ piece set of duplo legos that we bought that she plays with "on" the table but you unless you use adult strength you can't really get them to work on the table. There are some blocks that work but most of the bigger pieces (larger flat ones) will not work on the table.

My daughter is about 32" tall and can easily stand at the table and play. I contemplated buying a chair or something for her to use to sit and play but I don't think it would work given the low sides.

The table is very easy to put together and is well made. It took me approximately 10-15 minutes to put it together by myself. It probably would have taken less time if there was another person to help hold pieces as you worked. Overall great product!

Birthday present for two year old
I bought this table for my son's second birthday and he loves it! He's never really been into trains prior to receiving this table so it's an added bonus to see him become highly interested in something new. Right now the Lego pieces are too small for him (which we knew when we ordered) so he is using Duplo blocks. He definitely needs my help to snap them onto the board but they do fit. It was easy for me to assemble and seems sturdy so far. KidKraft enclosed an info. sheet with numbers where you can reach them if you have difficulty assembling or miss a part. I thought it was good value for the money, although it was a bit on the expensive side.

Very Sturdy
This was a gift for my 2 year old grandaughter. It is solid enough that we don't worry about her hurting herself on it - no sharp corners. Nice storage under the top of the table.

Poorly fitting track makes this difficult to use
I am shocked at all the glowing reviews for this train set. I bought this to supplement my son's Thomas sets, since Thomas is so expensive.

The tracks with this set are very shoddy. They don't stay together well at all. My son would get constantly frustrated with how the tracks fell apart. I bought the Suretrack clips and even with them on every single join, the tracks are still wobbly. The Thomas tracks stay together much better.

I was willing to accept this, because Thomas tracks are so much more expensive until I bought Kidkraft Limited Edition Waterfall Mountain Train Table and Train Set W/drawers. This is a full-size train table and train set for 0. The tracks that came with this set are just as good as the Thomas tracks for staying together. They aren't as pretty or detailed as the Thomas tracks, but they are equally functional. If this cheap set can work as well as Thomas tracks there is no excuse for this M&D set not to.

I unfortunately bought this set ahead of time by a few months so am unable to return it, which is what I really want to do. Sometimes a cheap item isn't worth what you pay for it. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Thomas trains I'd go with on of the Kidcraft sets before this one. I'm using a couple of the connector/splitter pieces of this set in our train set-up but almost the whole set just sits unused in our garage because the quality just isn't there. It isn't worth it to have my son whining every minute because Thomas keeps derailing off the M&D tracks.

I found this toy's low price tag was totally offset by the need to purchase Sureclips at +shipping. Go with a more expensive set that actually holds together. It doesn't have to be the super-expensive Thomas set.

Wonderful product
We bought this for my son's 2nd birthday. He was so excited to open it and put it together. This is definately a toy that will last a long time. His 7 year old cousin has fun playing with him and so do his grandparents. It's a great toy for all ages. At first he knocked the bridges over a lot but he learned to be more careful and we learned to only make bridges sometimes. He is 32 months now and makes a playable track by himself and plays without needing our help. His tracks are incomplete but he makes a more elaborate one each time. We didn't get a table because we don't have the space and it's nice to put it away when he isn't palying with it.

hope you have patience...
We got this for my 2yo. It took my husband and I over an hour to put it together. Many of the pieces just did not fit. I was a good thing we had some other Brio and Thomas tracks to substitute. And don't even bother trying to follow the diagram tht comes with it. It's not even close. It was such a pain that once we got it assembled, we decided to glue it to the train table because I didn't EVER want to do that again. Also, the quality of the trains are not as good as the Thomas ones. However, at , it was much more affordable than Thomas. That being said, both my 2 and 4 year old LOVE it and play with it for hours.

great train set for the $, a few construction issues
My son absolutely LOVES his wooden train sets (he started with the 2 starter sets {Thomas the Tank Engine and Imaginarium}) so we wanted to add to his collection and looked into many expansion sets before deciding on this set. for many reasons we love this set: first of all, this set is a great set for the cost!!! and is compatible with his other train sets. Secondly, we love that this set comes with so many actual train tracks pieces and structures, other sets were mostly trees and signs. The quality and quantity of items that come with this set is amazing and we would definately purchase this set again.
But with that said, there are a few construction issues that when compared to other sets; this wooden train set is slightly inferior. First the bridge is not the best design, no matter how you try to support it (we gave up using their wooden supports and use the Imaginarium plastic supports instead)the bridge consistantly collapses. Secondly the wooden supports, don't stay in place and cause the train tracks to fall off, so we no longer use them and just place the majority of the track on the floor; using the wooden supports more for blocks than anything else.
Besides the bridge and supports, I am extremely pleased with this wooden train set and would definately recommend it to others!

Fun, fun, fun!
My 3 year-old daughter LOVES her train tracks. They hold up well to her abuse : ) and there are infinate possiblilities for construction. The only problem we have is that they can be frustrating for young children to assemble. The bridges fall down if the blocks are not placed under them correctly. I think they are great fun for children and adults alike : )

Best train set for toddlers
Durabile, fun, easy to assemble. What more can you ask from a train set for a toddler? My son loves to take apart and rebuild the track. We look forward to expanding his track sets at holidays/birthdays. I can't think of anything negative to say about this set. Even my husband who is very critical of toy craftsmanship hasn't had anything bad to say about it.

Provides hours of fun
We bought this for our son's third birthday, and we could not be happier. He loves it and plays with the track for hours every day. Our 20 month old even helps put it together and can operate the train. The construction is solid. Both boys step on the tracks and throw them in a pile when rearranging them. They have not broken and look the same as the day we bought them. The dvd that came with this set was a hit as well. Both boys sing the title song at random times throughout the day. Not only do the boys love playing with it, but my husband and I enjoy putting it together as well. There are additional kits you can buy, and I love that they are all interchangable. Overall, I think this set is a good investment and sure to be hit with any kids in your home.

Hours of fun!
My 2 1/2 year old grandson just LOVES this train set. He spent 2 hours enmeshed in it the first day his 7 year old brother set it up for him. He is just fascinated with the train going around and around its track, over the bridge and through the tunnel. It is a GREAT toy and worth every penny! Little boys just love trains!!!

Boys Birthday
Was given as a birthday gift to a little boy, turns out to be great for big boys too. Lots of fun and works well manually as well as with the easy to use remote control. Sturdy and durable.

Sturdy train set
My son, who just turned 4, had been asking for a "remote controlled" train set for a long time. We were hesistant to get him a real model train, fearing it would not survive the normal wear and tear he and his younger sister would give it. This train set is very sturdy. It is also very easy to use. For the first few days he used it every day. We were a little concerned that he would lose interest in it after a while and that is what has happened. But I think if we decide to add on to it with additional track and buildings, it will hold his interest more. It does tend to eat up the batteries rather quickly. I recommend rechargeables. It takes 6 AAA batteries total.
