A classic must have
I first saw the KidKraft Train table set in the children's department at Barnes and Noble. What caught my attention was not the train table but a most unhappy child (loudly) protesting being pried off of the table by his mother. Every time I was in the bookstore, there were children so engaged in playing with the table. That was years before I had my first child. My friend's boys spend over an hour each day with the trains and town. It is worth the cost as it is everything a toy should be! My little boy is not even a year old and we bought it for him, anticipating the hours of fun he will enjoy playing with it.

Perfect for my imaginative toddler!
Purchased this train for my 2 yr old daughter. She LOVES it and plays with nearly daily. It was very simple to put together (both table and track), but pay close attention to the directions for the track as a couple pieces have to lay in a particular direction to connect properly. It is well made and so far very durable. We really like that there are different theme areas on the table and toys that fit with each theme (e.g. farm with lake, airport, mountain/quarry, and park). Our daughter is imaginative and this set lends itself very well to adding in other toys she has (e.g. she likes to put her Playmobile diver set and fish into the "lake" on the table and let the divers get things out of the water that are delivered by train to the mountain/quarry section of the table). Also, its great that all the cars, trucks and plane all also fit on the track. The track easily fits with Thomas the Tank brand trains. This set is popular with both boy and girl children of a variety of ages that come over to play. Finally, the 2 under table drawers are great for stowing away things. Many reviews recommended gluing down the track. We opted not to do this and so far and I'm glad because we can use the table for other purposes if we choose to. It hasn't been an issue - none of the children who've played with it have messed up the track. You may want to test it out with your child before permanently gluing things down. The only complaint is that there is a part of the track that goes under a bridge, but the space under the bridge is not really tall enough for the train to go under without bumping the top of the tunnel. This was an easy fix with thin pieces of wood to boost the bridge up higher and now it works smoothly.

Great train table
Santa brought this train table for my 3 year old son for Christmas 2009. He absolutley loves it! My husband put it together in no time at all. It is a great product for the value....My son plays with it every day. The only thing I wish is that the tracks were more secure. He has all is Thomas wooden trains on the table and they work great. The bins underneath are perfect for storing the trains when they are not being used which is not very often.

IMO: Built by someone who loves kids---- and parents as well!
Santa brought this toy for xmas for my 4yo son.
The biggest was the high quality components. A lot of thomas the tank engine look-alikes are poor quality.
This was as good if now better the the original.

You get everything you need for a complete play experience. The parts pack away easily under the table.

So, you get high quality, low cost, fun pieces, easy clean up. Lightweight but sturdy so you can move it around
and it will last (I would not let your kids jump on it but it is very sturdy for its intended use).


This is a well thought out product by someone who loves kids ---- and moms and dads as well!

KidKraft Ride Around Train Set
The discription for the train set did not itemize all the parts that were included. I was pleasantly surprised to see more parts than expected, the brilliant colors and the durability of the set. This toy will be enjoyed for many years.
