Customer Reviews

Kid Tough or "Tough, Kid" ...
We purchased two of these Christmas 2008. One pink, one blue. As of this review, our pink one is still working but the blue one is shot. I called Fisher Price customer service but because it's been over the one year warranty (info that offered voluntarily) nothing could be done. The blue one does not charge ... period. Working, working, stopped working. Keeping track of the tool to open the back is a pain and I've swapped out adapters (with the pink one) to make sure it's not the adapter. I'm throwing out a toy and don't even know why. Customer service says this isn't an issue they've seen before and because of that, there isn't anything they can do.

I'm so disappointed we spent this kind of money. As of today, the blue one is a 0.00 toy! Save your money and get the kids a cheapie portable DVD player. You could replace it 7-8 times for the cost of this one. It may be kid tough, but it should be "Tough, Kid."

lousy
The exterior is durable as promised, but the quality of the dvd player itself is lacking. Won't play dvds, skips, quit working entirely. When it did work there would be random lines across the screen. Fisher Price should team up with a quality electronics manufacturer to make something like this. I would be willing to pay more for a DVD player that WORKS.

Also, how about adding a "button lock" option of some sort so young ones don't accidentally/purposefully hit a button and mess up their movie, and then freak out about it?

Satisfied
I am shocked at the abuse that the Tough Kid DVD Player is taking and still able to play. My son has dropped it many times and it still works. Sometimes the sound button gets stuck (from being dropped so many times). I have to keep it charged because he uses it everyday. I haven't taken it on any road trips hopefully, it will be able to stay charged for at least 2 to 3 hours. The product arrived within 5 to 7 days in its original packing. I will definitely order from this person again in the future.

grandmother
Great educational toy that is capable of with standing the rough and tough play of an 18 month toddler. My grandson loves the DVD player - well actually he loves the Elmo videos. This DVD player makes the viewing of Elmo possible. His parents love it also as the player frees up the TV screen for them. This was a great buy!

Not that Kid Tough...Not that Durable...
I had high hopes for this DVD player, but have now gone through 2 of them. The first one only lasted about 3 months with my 2 year old--it was never dropped, it just quit working one day. I bought another (slow learner, I guess), and this one lasted 3 months, too. If they're going to be disposables, I'd be better off just buying one of the (...) models available. Disappointing!
