Excellent Train Set
This set was everything I had hoped for! I did not want a battery-operated train set as my personal experience is that kids do not get actively involved in the whole exercise of setting up the tracks and then traversing it using toy train! This train set not only excites them but also can be used to introduce them to different railway concepts.

My son was glowing with excitement when I unpacked it. Though he is little too small for this toy he still learnt and managed to not unhook the tracks accidentally in excitement..

Teddy's Greatest Gift
I purchased Melissa and Doug Deluxe Wooden Railway set for my grandson Teddy for Christmas. We opened my gifts to the grandchildren at my house after church on Christmas eve. Teddy is not two yet. He absolutely loves his train set. When they got ready to go home they boxed the train set and put it in their living room across from the tree. When my son heard Teddy saying very quietly " Daddy, please help me, Daddy come? My son Daniel, thought his son was awake and in the new Christmas presents, as it was only 6:00 am. Daniel went to their living room and found teddy lying on top of the Train set box. He look up and said, Daddy, my train-- I need my train. He had not even noticed the new presents under the tree. It was his train set he wanted. So, before the others were up, Teddy and Daniel put the train tracks, bridge and the rest of the set together. There they were, both smiling and playing with the train when Sarah, Daniels wife and Grace, their daughter got up. The train engine went to the table for Christmas Breakfast. What a wonderful Christmas morning for the entire family. What joy this brought me, Teddy and Grace's Grandmother.l

Great buy
I gave this train set (along with Sureclips - necessary!!) to my almost 2 yr old son for Christmas. He loves it!!! Much cheaper than Thomas and so much fun. I had to take 1" off one piece to build the track shown in the picture, but that was no big deal. Certainly worth saving + over the Thomas. My son can run a Thomas train on it with no problem. The Sureclips keep things secure for playing, but let the tracks be interchangeable.

Great Product, but NOT solid wood as stated
I purchased this kitchen from a local toy store for my daughter's second birthday. She absolutely LOVES it! The design and bold colors make it attractive. The refrigerator and oven are deep enough to put plenty of accessories in, unlike some other toy kitchens I looked at. I love the safety features--rounded corners and plastic door latches that keep the refrigerator and oven doors from closing tightly and pinching little fingers. I have no complaints about this kitchen, but I would like to point out that the product description on amazon says that it is solid wood and "doesn't include a single piece of press board" but this is not true. The one I purchased was from a display in a toy store, therefore already assembled. When I got home I noticed a small hole in the top of it that apparently happened in the store. When looking in the hole, you can tell that it IS made of press board, but very thick and heavy-weight, so still very sturdy and durable.

Absolutely PERFECT!!
This kitchen is so WONDERFUL! We bought it as a Christmas present for our 1 1/2 and 3 year old. They LOVE it. In addition to their enthusiasm for it, we love it too! It is SO WELL MADE! The assembly was so easy, with EVERY part labeled and instructions that a child could follow, we had it all together in an hour and a half with no stress AT ALL!!! All the parts are made from solid wood, not particle board and the attention to detail with the design is impressive. The knobs of the stove even tilt up slightly like on a real stove. There are so many cute details. It was worth every single penny!!! It has provided hours and hours of fun for my kids :-)

So far so good...
There are a lot of positive reviews for this kitchen, but the negative ones worried me. So far we are happy with it. Set-up took 2 hours, but my husband is very good at those kind of things. There was one hole that was misaligned, but my husband said the set was so solid it wouldn't matter. He loved their system of color coding - it made set-up easier.
I love the kitchen, it's very cute, and the rounded edges were a big sell for me. My daughter has only had it 3 days, so I can't speak about durability yet.
My only beef was actually with Amazon itself (and I have been a loyal customer since the beginning). The price of this kitchen went up and down from day to day, sometimes as much as fifty dollars. We still got a good price because of the free shipping, but I felt like I was gambling because at any moment the price could go up or down.

Tremendous value: Functional, cute and well-built
Just purchased this for Christmas. Although I am a carpenter and architect, I was a little concerned about the complexity of assembly. Of course, Christmas Eve at midnight is when assembly begins for something like this. (do yourself a favor and don't ahve that extraa beer or glass of wine beforehand) You can't easily build it and then hide it in your bedroom or office and then drag it out Christmas AM so I, at least, was confined to assembling it right alongside the Christmas tree. (Cheery experience anyway)

And yes, even with my experience, it took a full FOUR hours proceeding at a nice careful, steady pace. However, the directions are very, very clear with tips and all the pieces are sequentially numbered. (Line them all up on the floor from "1" onward for an easier time of it)
There are colored dots at tricky portions to ensure that some component is not assembled incorrectly. I'd say the assembly went very smoothly but slowly.
It all arrived in perfect condition. It is a really well thought-out unit. Although it's all particleboard (melamine-coated), it's still a well-built unit, especially considering the price and the fact that (of course) it's produced in China. There is a report from Doug And Melissa enclosed stating that the products have been tested and contain no lead paint. (Although the testing report is generated in China and the bulk of it is in Chinese! So who knows!) ;-)

The hinges are very durable. The panel pieces were cut well and fit together well. The plasic components were well-made and the wooden faucets and handles were great. I think the microwave turntable probably could use an extra plastic washer between it and the case in order to function more smoothly...but that's a very small point. Unlike some other customers our unit did not have any mis-drilled holes (although you do have to play with the knock-down "barrel" connectors a bit sometimes when installing the screw to ensure that the screw goes directly into the threaded portion of the barrel) You don't want to just jam the screw in there as that could cause some cross-threading I'd think. Although it's slow, use the hex wrench provided (or another one) for assembly, and NOT a hex bit in a drill as that would probably result in some cross-threading or over-tightening. Assemble all the bolts loosely for one panel/piece and THEN tighten them all up. This will help eliminate "alignment" problems.

Our boy REALLY loves this unit...and I've added hooks on the side panels for measuring cups, spoons, etc. Highly recommend this product. We should have it around for years to come. Would easily stand up to moderate daily use in a pre-school or daycare environment.

Wonderfully Engineered; Great Play Fun
This was Christmas 2009 for our 3 and 1 year old. I put this together in maybe three hours because there were some interruptions. The directions were the best I have ever followed. They are very clear, and have great diagrams from 2 directions with each step. The color coding dots are easy to follow during install. There were only 2 pieces that were maybe 1/16 off. There was one hole that did not have the metal insert to accept it's screw. When it was done, everything was flush and level. I have been in the woodworking industry for over 12 years, and I have sold and installed much cheaper, and of lesser quality items in peoples homes. This kitchen looks great, feels great, and best of all the kids were so excited to see it Christmas Morning, and after they were done fighting over the food items, they enjoyed playing with it for a while. We will get a lot of use out of this kitchen.

Wood blocks
I bought these blocks for my 2 1/2 yr old great nephew at his mom's request. He seems to like knocking them down as soon as his mom and dad build something. He will soon be able to build things on his own. His mom and dad love them. I think Melissa and Doug are great products for kids.

it works for 2 year girl
My girl is just about 2-year-old, and I brought this as a gift. She loves it. and we could spend a lot time on playing it. Fast shipment with prime, Great quality.

A Must Have Toy!
In a world of battery operated toys - we decided Santa should go "back to the basics". These blocks have already gotten more use than any other holiday gift! Our whole family loves them! The creativity is endless! A must have!

Great for a creative boy!
My 3 year old loves to play with these blocks and build towers. It's a toy that babysitters enjoy and will play with him as well. I like them, too, because when you're finished they fit neatly into the wooden box it came in. I am glad that I bought these at Amazon because I saw them at a local toy store for about twice the price.
